How does it work?

BeWip relies on the standard technologies WiFi and SIP, to provide a service of telephony over the Internet on mobile phones.

WiFi wireless connection
The WiFi technology is a way to establish a wireless connection to the Internet. The high-speed capacity of the access points allows transferring large amounts of data, and thus communicating via VoIP (Voice Over IP).

Connecting correspondents with SIP
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is the open standard for multimedia communications (sound, image, etc.). It is the most common among Internet access providers. Beyond your fix phone at home or in the office, BeWip allows connecting your mobile phone to this network.

Connect in and out the standard telephony networks
The standard telephony network is also known as PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network). It is already connected to the SIP network of your operator. Therefore, your BeWip phone can be used to establish communications with landline or mobile phones (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, etc.), at the price defined by your SIP operator instead of the price proposed by your mobile telephony operator.
